2-Day Supervising First Aid For Mental Health Course in Cardiff

Course Content

Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition. A family member, a friend, a colleague or even yourself.

This course expands on the 1 day course and covers a broader range of mental health conditions. You will study in detail about the range of professional support that an individual can get from professionals during treatment for a mental health condition.

The training course is intended for individuals who are in supervisory or managerial positions and have the responsibility for ensuring a positive mental health culture within an organisation.

You will be assessed throughout the course by your trainer and at the end of each day you will have a written assessment. Upon successful completion of your course, you will obtain an Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health. Your qualification will be valid for 3 years from the date of completion.

Qualification

The ‘2-Day Supervising First Aid For Mental Health’ qualification is valid for three years from the date of completion. To maintain your certification, you are required to complete another 12 hour, Award in ‘2-Day Supervising First Aid For Mental Health’ course.

This qualification is a nationally recognised and accredited award. At First Aid Cardiff, we exceed the minimum standards required by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for first aid training providers.

Since 2013, the HSE has removed the requirement for first aid qualifications to be externally regulated. That said, certain high-risk or specialist workplaces may still require externally regulated qualifications. If this applies to your organisation, please inform us prior to booking and we will be happy to offer guidance on the most appropriate option.
