First Aid Cardiff is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion across all areas of our organisation. We aim to eliminate unlawful discrimination and create an environment in which all staff and clients are treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

Policy Aims

This policy seeks to:

  • Promote equality, fairness, and respect for all staff, whether temporary, part-time, or full-time

  • Prevent unlawful discrimination in line with the Equality Act 2010, including on the grounds of:

    • Marriage and civil partnership

    • Pregnancy and maternity

    • Sexual orientation

  • Ensure equality across all employment practices, including recruitment, pay and benefits, training, promotion, grievances, disciplinary procedures, flexible working, redundancy, and dismissal

Responsibilities and Conduct

All staff share responsibility for upholding this policy and may be held personally liable for acts of bullying, harassment, victimisation, or unlawful discrimination against colleagues, clients, suppliers, or members of the public during the course of their employment.

Any complaints of discrimination, bullying, or harassment are treated seriously and investigated promptly. Such behaviour may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal for gross misconduct.

Please note that certain forms of harassment, including sexual harassment, may also constitute a criminal offence under legislation such as the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

Client Rights and Responsibilities

Clients and learners can expect to be treated with courtesy, respect, and consideration at all times. We ask that the same standard of behaviour is shown towards our staff.

No individual will be treated less favourably or discriminated against on the grounds of religion or belief, age, gender, race, disability, or sexual orientation.
