Selecting a first aid training provider
All of our qualifications are nationally recognised and fully accredited first aid awards. At First Aid Cardiff, we go beyond the standards set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for course providers. You can find a full list of the HSE requirements we exceed below.

In 2013, the HSE deregulated the first aid industry so there is no longer any requirement for externally regulated certification for most people and most working environments. In some specific cases regulation is still requested but as this is now much rarer we do not offer externally regulated courses.
If you require externally regulated certification you must bring this to our attention before making your booking and we can advise accordingly.
HOW WE COMPLY
- All of our trainers and assessors hold current ‘First Aid at Work’ qualifications as a minimum and all hold relevant teaching qualifications.
- We have a dedicated and qualified ‘Quality Assurance Officer’ and fully documented ‘Course Evaluation’ and ‘Complaints’ procedures.
If you are unsure which first aid course is most appropriate, please do not hesitate to get in touch. - All of our courses are taught in accordance with current guidelines on adult basic life support published by the Resuscitation Council (UK).
- All of our courses have been designed by experts in the field to exceed the requirements for course content set by the HSE. See Appendix 1 & 2 in the HSE’s document on selecting a first-aid training provider.
- Our certificates are accredited accordingly and include all necessary details as outlined by the HSE.
